Have you ever wondered how to pronounce some of the words on food labels? Or thought, what is that… really?
Like many concerned parents, our “why” story beings with our children. We, Farmer Adam and Wife Jennifer, both have backgrounds in academia, training and development, health & wellness, and, yes, even agriculture! In spite of all this, we had little understanding of what was in our food.
Our “great awakening” was around the time we had our second son, Deacon. We were using formula to give him the nutrients he needed for big strong muscles, and needless to say, there were many words on the label we could not pronounce. That really got us wondering… what is in our everyday food?
This kicked off a lot of reading and researching… and to be honest, we didn’t love everything we learned. So, we started wondering…
What if we planted a garden and began to raise our own meat? Could we start with chickens? Maybe we also add pigs or even a few cows… and long story short - Boom! Here we are - Kickin’ Grass Farm!
Our passion for growing healthy food comes from our desire to obtain it ourselves and we’re thrilled to pass that on to you.
Today, our farm specializes in raising pasture chicken, pasture eggs, pasture lamb, pasture pork and grass feed beef. Our goal is for each animal to thrive in its most natural environment. We keep things simple and therefore create the most nutrient dense protein for your family!

This is us…
Farmer Adam, Wife and Mom Jennifer, Master Lamb Man Aden (7), and Master Chicken Man Deacon (5). Together we are Kickin’ Grass Farm and we each work our little piggy tails off to ensure our farm produces great quality food for you!
Farmer Adam is the leader and visionary of the business. He works full time in our pastures, taking care of our animals from morning to night. All of Adam’s past experiences as a fitness trainer, environmental educator and leadership trainer come together at Kickin’ Grass Farm.
Adam has a unique enthusiasm for the outdoors. He loves sharing his knowledge of nature with others. Adam’s energy is contagious and he makes the Kickin’ Grass Farm farm tours extra special. Of course, Adam could not do his job without his two master farmers Aden and Deacon, who are really the reason we work to be better everyday!
